John Raker and wife, of Knobs-

son had not seen each other since
the latter 'vas fourteen years of
age, and the father promised that
if he felt as well next summer as
now, he would come back and j ay

visit at that time.

H. W. Mellott Ms kept quite
busy gathering up furs.
Those who took dinner with
Mr. and Mrs. Caleb Mellott last
Sunday were, Mr. and Mrs. Har
vey Black, of Johnstown; Mr.
and Mrs. Wm Weaverling, of Kef.r
ney; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Mellott
and sons Fred and Leroy; and
Miss Lillian Fleming, teacher of
Glunt's school. Mrs. Mellott had
reached her fifty eighth mile
stone. Mrs. Orgen Wihle visited her
parents Mr. and Mrs. John Sny
der the first part of the week.

to spend some time with her sis
ter, Mrs. H. C. Matthias.
Charlie Cowan, near Chambers
burg, is spending some time with
relatives in this vicinity.
Mrs. Roy McCeehe who has
been on the sick list for some
time, is better.
Clell Cisney spent Saturday iu

The weather, which has been
go warm, damp, and unseason
able during the last two or three
weeks, has caused a great many
people to be sick. Among those
in our community are Mr. and
Mrs. Dennis Kverts. Mrs. Mary
Gregory, and Mrs. Wm. Engle.
Moses Gordon is much better.
Reed Simpson has his new
store almost completed.
Mrs. Nell Simpson Litton spent
last week in the home of her par
ents. Frank Martin expects to go to
Oklahoma the first cf March.
Scott Johnson is sawing a lot
t,of nice lumber for W. W. Hewett.
The Simpson Bros, have ship
ped a large quantity of poultry
during the past season. Ed does
the huckstering.
Rev. Powers presetted at Dam
ascus and at Laurel Ridge last

Only such words are. to be used as are found in any Dictionary. No proper names, foreign words,
names of persons, towns or places are to be used.
Do not use a letter more time than it appears in the words, "Troup .Brothers' Pianos." Words
eK'lle(l the same, but haviug a tlillerent meaning, (an be used but once Both singular and plural
forms of words may be used.
This contest is open only to those who do not own an upright or grand piano.
Easy payments will be granted to those wishing to be accommodated by applying their credit bills
and paying the balance iu monthly payments.
No more than one credit bill will be accepted on the same instrument.
Ehch list must be signed by persons compiling the same. In the event of hats not being signed by
persons compi ing same, the firm reserves the right to reject such list.
No credit bills can bo applied on any purchase made prior to opening day of the contest.
No person conected with the piano business in any way will be allowed to compete.
