At the Hagerstown Fair list
week, we notice the Brut prize for
heavy draft horse was awarded
to the imported Roan Belgian
horse bought from A. J. Hays,
Mannington, W. Va., by J. N.
Ricker, near Mercersburg, and
N. W. Hohman and D. A. Nelson,
of Ayr township.
The horse was 3 years old, last
June, and now weighs over liiOO
pounds.

Last Saturday a party of young
people from this place went to
Sideling Hill mountain for Chest
nuts. They repori having had a
good time, and found chestnuts
plenty. Those who were includ
ed in the party were Sallie Fields,
Nell Curran, Luemma Laidig,
Dora Speck, Nettie Kauck, Hazel
Lamberson, Paulino Kirk, Virgie
Mathias, Edna Hoover, Ola Mum
ma, 1). K. Chesnut, H. P. Barton,
and W. W. Hoover. They were
taken by Bert Sipe on a wagon
tilled with straw.
K. Lindsay and wite, of Indi
aua, are visiting friends iu aud

Mrs. Harry Daniels returned
to her home in this place, after
having spent several weeks at the
home of her parents in Lancas
ter county. She was accompan
ied home by her father.
