chased the livery owned by Isaac
Morgret, at Hancock, and will
conduct the same at the old stand
in the rear of the Barton House.
Mr. Remsburg, who was former
ly a B. & O. telegrapher, is a very

will no doubt receive a large share
of the public patronage. He is
idding new vehicles to his livery
and expects to purchase, in the
near future, several more speedy
travelers.

A rattlesnake called at the res
idence of John Carbaugh last Sat
urday afternoon. He was met at
the porch by a member of Mr.
Carbaugh's family. A little al
tercation took place. ' The snake
is not living now. Ten rattles
and a button are all that is left of
him. His age was twelve years;
his length, three feet.
William Seville, of Franklin
county, came over to visit his fa
ther John Seville.
Mrs. Mary Garland and her
son James were at Luther Mel
lott 's last Sunday to see Mrs.
Garland's sister who is very sick.

sued yesterday by the New York
Post Graduate hospital, announc
ing the discovery of a new cure
for consumption. This new rem
edy is the juice of raw table vege

cured by grinding and squeezing,
a dose being two ounces after
meals. The statement is made
that eleven patients with well de
veloped pulmonary tuberculosis
have absolutely been cured and
are now good subjects for life in
surance risks. Fifty other pa
tients are still under treatment
and are said to be progressing
satisfactorily.

so bad for a man almost seventy
years of age. He says his sight
