The Mrs. Wylie Smith, who
was burned to death a few days
ago in Franklin county bv her
dress catching fire, while at the
wash boiler, was a daughter of
Alex Haulman, of Markes, and a
iece of Mr. Scott Ilatm, at Web
ster Mills. Her age was but 27
years, and she had been married
only a few years, and had a happy
home.
A very pleasant little party was
given at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. S. S. Hann, near Webster
Mills, last Saturday a week, in
honor of the eighth anniversary
of the birth of their youngest
daughter, Jemima. Eight of her
little girl triends were present,
and the children had a day of
pleasure long to be remembered.

Bedford county, last Saturday
and back Sunday.

gregation. Mason Thomas and Mr. Himes

tract. J. E. Lyon is having a quantity
of black oak bark peeled after
which he will have the timber
sawed.
A. J. Comerer, who is hauling
lumber from .sew Grenada to
Three Springs, spent Sunday at
his home.
The lumber industry on J. E,
Lyon's farm this spring has giv
eu employment to a number of
persons and teams.

The Rev. Robert Fleming Wil
son, a Presbyterian minister
unown ail over the feute, was
found dead on the tracks of the
Milroy branch of the Pennsyl
vania Railroad, near Reedsville,
this morning. He accompanied
his grandson to Belleville, but,
missing the train, was returning
home when overtaken with heart
trouble. Mr. Wilson was about
81 years old, and was a minister
for more than fifty years. In
April, 1893, he was elected stated
clerk of this presbytery, which
position he held at the time of
his death. His wife and three
daughters survive.
To-day is the 15th anniversary
of the Johnstown flood, which de
stroyed nearly 3,500 lives and
many millions of dollars worth of
property.

exhibited here last Saturday aft
