Horax may be dusted on a scald or wet burn ed surface. It is nice for clean ing the teeth and to sweeten the breath, and a little added to hard water renders it much nicer for bathing purposes. Equal parts of powdered orris r et. borax, prepared chalk aud one sixth as much soap make a fine dentifrice. There is no better remedy f or dandru IT than a wash of one ounce each of borax aud camphor to 1 pints of cold water. Scurf may be removed from the baby i head by rubbing on a little borax, and then washing with soap and wat er. Use one tablespoon ful of bor ax to one gallon of water for wash ing wooleu fabrics; it makes a bet ter lather when dissolved in hot water, For washing silk hand kerchiefs and gloves borax may be used instead of soap. It is al so nice for cleaning hairbrushes. When meat is ready to hang up, wash it iu water as hot as you can bear it an your hands, then carefully cover the flesh side with powdered horax, aud you will not be troubled with bugs or worms.
