Mrs. Morrow M. Kendall drove
over to Franklin county and spent
a few days visiting Mr. and Mrs.
Grove Keefer and was accompan
ied home by Mrs. Keeter, who is
now visiting at the home of her
mother, Mrs. Maggie Kendall.
Rev. Dumville will preach at
Mt. Zion next Sunday morningat
10 o'clock, and at Ebenezer at 3
o'clock in the afternoon. On the
account of having been called to
the home of his father on account
of sickness, there will not be any
preaching at Bedford Chapel
next Sunday.
Owing to the heavy rain storm
of last Sunday evening, the Luth
eran people of this place were
not able to have their Children's
Day exercises and the time is
fixed for Friday evening. An ex
cellent program lias been pre
pared, and an interesting enter
tainment may be expected.
Mr. Albert Alexander, employ
e l in the classification yards at
Altoona, is taking his annual va
cation. He first took a little run
down to Philadelphia to see his
old neighbors, Mrs. Josephine
Logan and family, and then came
up to this place on Monday and

and Mrs. James G. Alexander.
Miss Gertrude Hoke of this
place, was last week re elected
teacher In one of the graded
schools In the to A n of Clearfield,
Pa., for a term of iiuu mouths at
a salary of $15 a month. Miss
Hoke has gainod au euviable repu
tation as a teacher in graded
schools. Owing to the declining
health of her aged father, she is
however undecided us to whether
she ought to leave home.
