FROST IS ON THE Pl'NKI.N, When the frost Is on the punkin and the fodder's in the shock. And you hear the lcyourk and gobble of the Htruttin' turkey roi'k, And the clacking of the guineys, and the cluckln' of the liens, And the rooster's hallelooyer as he tiptoes on the fence, Oh, it's then'g the time a fellow is a feelin' at his licst, With the rlsin' sun to greet him from a night of gracious rest, As he leaves the house bareheaded and goes out to feed the stock, When the frost is on the punkln and the fodder's in the shock. There's somethin' kind o' hearty like about the atmosphere When the heat of summer's over and the coolin' fall is hero. Of course wo miss the flowers and the blossoms on the trees, And the humble of the hummin'-liirds and the btizzin' of the bees: Hut the air's so appeti.in' and the landscape througn tue naze Of a crisp and sunny morning and the early autumn days Is a picture that no painter has the colorin' to mock, When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder's in the shock. The husky, rusty rustle of the tassels of the corn, And the raspin' of the tangled leaves as golden as the morn; The stubble on the furrles kind of lonesome like, but still A proachin' sermons to us of the barns they growed to fill. The straw-stock in tho medder, and the reaper in the shed, The horses in their stalls below, the clover overhead Oh, it sets my heart a clickln' like the tickin' of a clock, When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder's in the shock. James Whlteomb Hiloy. A REMARKABLE CASE. One of the most remarkable cases of a cold, deep-seated on the lungs, causing pneumonia, is that of Mrs. Gertrude E. Four bottles of this won derful remedy cured me entirely of the cough, strengthened my lungs and restored me to my nor mal weight, hoalth and strength." Sold at Trout's drugstore.
