On Monday Levi Keefer of Ayr township had his team in the mutiU.;.). The wugoti became fast against a small tree which was cut down, but in falling it threatened to crush Mr. Koefer's horses, whereupon he threw him self between the falling tree and the team to try to save them, and was severly injured. The teachers of Tod township held their first local institute of the year last Friday evening at Rummers schoolhouse. Thirteen teachers, together with theCoun ty Superintendent, were present, The program was well arranged and the topics were well discuss ed. Four teachers from Tod, five from Ayr, three from Belfast and Prof. Cress from McCon- uellsburg represented the teach ing force present.
