    FULTON COUNTY NEWS.
CHINAMAN TOl'SY-TURVEY.
A London paper relates that a
corporal of the Italian troops
which roturned last week from
China gives the following suc
cinct enumeration of the chief dif
ferences between a Chinaman and
a European:
"Whoa a Chinaman meets you"
says the corporal, "he shakes his
own hand instead of yours. When
he walks with you he never keeps
pace. He puts on his hat in salu
tation. He puts whiting on' his
boots instead of blacking. When
on horseback he holds the reins
in his stirrups instead of his fin
gers. His compass points to the
south. Girls wear trousers and
the men petticoats. Ho throws
away tho pulp of a melon and
eats the pips. He smiles when
he receives bad news to deceive
the evil spirit. He gives up the
left as the place of honor. He
thiuKs it most polite to ask a per
sou's age. Finally, his favorite
gift to his father and mother is a
coflin."
