We were misinformed as to the
high school having an entertain
ment Friday afternoon, and re
quested to state that there is
nothing further than their ordi
nary literary work.
Sunday there was summer heat
in the Lackawanna valley and a
blizzard around the Alleghany.
Pennsylvania is a large state and
can accommodate all sorts of
weather at the same time.
The old saying of "a stitch in
time saves niue" holds very true
in reference to your stock and
horses. If you feed small doses
of "Peerless Horse & Cattle Pow
der" regularly you will know it
was 10c: a pack well invested.
Mrs. II. S. Wishart, of Harris
ouville, favored the News office
with her presence a few minutes
Wednesday. Mrs. Wishart says
as soon as she can get the Doctor
to thinking favorably of the pro
ject, they will move to Johnstown.
Such a low price as 10c for a
jound package of "Peerless
lor so & Cattle Powder would be
impossible were it not for its
enormous sale. Ask your mer
chant about it examine and taste
it, for this will prove to you its
quality feed it and you will
know its merits. Remember a
pound pack for 10c.

You are a little mistaken; that
is not a pumpkin you see in onr
office window, although you
might bo pardoned for thinking
so. It is a California Navel or
ange, and we received it a day or
two ago by mail from our friend
.). Orvillo Harris, of Oroville, Cal
ifornia. It is a beauty and no
mistake, and weighs sixteen
ounces, and measures thirteen
inches in circumference. We
confess wo have always been too
stupid to understand why it
should have the name it bears,
liutil Mr. Harris told us to look
at the blossom end.
Coughs, Colds, and Constipation.
Few people realize when taking
cough medicines other than Fo
ley's Honey and Tar, that they
contain opiates which are consti
pating besides being unsafe, par
ticularly for children. Foley's
Honey and Tar contains no opi
ut"s, is safe and sure and will not
constipate. All dealers.
Christmas Service.
Appropiate Christmas exer-ci-"s

pastor of the church will be pres
ent to participate in, and enjoy
the service. A cordial invitation
is extended to all.

"Where did you get your Shirt

"Why, at Wiener's, of course.
They have the loveliest shirt waist
