"News" last week, died on Tues
day of this week at her home in

There was found on the Cove
road between John Ott's and Mrs.
Keziah Johnston's a bunch of four
keys two brass and two steel.

not less than one new subscriber
a day. There may be a few poo
yle at court next week who aro
not yet subscribers. If so, we

L. Markwood Winton, aged
about 45 years, son of Rev. H. B.
Winton a Lutheran minister for
merly of this place, was found
dead in his room at Hagerstown
last Sunday evening. A doctor
testified that Winton had died of
heart disease, superinduced by
asthma. It has been but a short
time since his brother Charlie
was found dead in a Pittsburg
"ffcotol.

S. D. Stevens of Cliambersburg
spent Monday with his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. David Stevens of
Laidig.
March has shown great changes
in weather dvring tlio past week.
Last Wednesday being one of the
coldest days of the winter, follow
ed by warmer weather and the
heavy rain of Sunday night; then
the great wind storm of Monday
night. Sunday was the darkest
day on account of the fog and
clouds known for many years.
John Deavor who has been
working at Saxtou spent Sunday
at home.

D. P. Deshoug's family, who
have all been undergoing a siege
of grip, are, we are glad to note,
rapidly convalescing.
Mrs. Kate Deshoug, who has
been seriously sick, is again able
to walk about.
Master Frank Mellott has been
suffering with pneumonia. He
is now pronounced, convalescent,
by the attending physician Dr.
Swartzwolder. '
C. M. Dixon is again at his place
of business. Ho says he has
"Fulton County Grip."
Mr. John Gitliu is again able to
drive his wiry steeds along the
public highways. Mrs. Giflin is
also reported better.
Mr. David D. Haun will move
shortly, to the farm belonging to
David Mellott in Licking Creek
township. Geo. Deshoug, of Hustontown.
was seen in our community last
week.
P. S. Deshong and mother of
Bedford will move to his farm,
vacated by David D. Haun.
R. R. Sipes, teacher of Shane's
cchool is again able to manipulate
the reins at his place of lore.
John Lake and wife, and Geo.
Garner and wife, attended the
funeral of Mrs. Lake's brother
James, one day last week at Side
ling Hill Baptist Church.
