The Presbyterian people at War
fordsburg will give a lawn fete at
their church on Friday evening and
Saturday evening of this week. Every

John Dill, aged 15 years, Freemans
burg, Pa., Is a raving maniac on ac
count of the excessive smoking cigar
ettes. For the past four days ho has
not partaken of food nor has he slept.
Dill Imagines himself the emperor of
Germany and night and day is busy
drilling imaginary regiments of sol
diers, with whom ho expects to over
throw many governments.
The Lutheran Reunion Committee
w ill ask the Ileformed and Presbyter
ian reunion associations to join in
asking tho W. M. H. It. Co. to erect
at Pen Mar Park a commodious build
ing to be used by the speakers on tho
occasions of tho reunions. Tho build
ing which has been used for this pur
pose is too small. The religious
bodies will make a proposition to pay
one-half tho cost of tho building if the
railroad pays the other half.
Mr. P. P. Mann, who has conducted
a saddlery in this place, during the
past live years, sold out his business
to Mr. William Kennedy, of Green
castle, the latter taking possession on
last Mondey morning. We aro not
advised as to Mr. Mann's plans for
tho future; but we hope wo may not
lose him as a citizen of tho borough.
Mr. Kennedy who was formerly employ
ed in Mr Mann's shop is a good
mechanic und will no doubt keep up
the reputation of the shop for prompt
ness and good work.

attended the funeral of their
brother, George Nail, on last
Wednesday.

daughter of Everett, spent a few
clays last week with Mr. Mann's
parents Mr. and Mrs. W. C.

That was a very happy and
ngreeable crowd of young ladies
and gentlemen, f rom MeConuolls
burg who held their annual pic
nic near Harrisonville, Tuesday.
They repaired to that famous
hostlery the Green Hill house in
the evening. After supper they
did not "trip the light fantastic,"
but returned home tired but
happy. Your correspondent was
not present, consequently cannot
give you the names of those pres
ent.
Miss Maria Betz, who has
been spending the summer in
Clearfield, returned to her home
at this place Tuesday.
Misses Ella Mann and llattio
Betz, were in Needmore, Mon
day. David E. Strait, of Hustontown,
and Miss Maggie Strait, who is em
ployed in McCounelsburg, spent
Sunday with their parents Mr
and Mrs Jacob Strait.
Rev. Grant Llauu, occupied
the pulpit at the M. E. church
at Green Hill Sunday afternoon.
Miss Nettie Minick, of Marion,
Ind., is visiting her grand par
ents, Mr. and Mrs. John Minick.
All's. Ferdinand Docker, is
seriously ill at this writing.
George Hanu made a business
trip to Three Springs Friday.
Mrs. James Minick, who has
been in ill health the grater part
of the summer, is dangerously ill
at this time.
Master Oram Wible, of Me
Conncllsburg, is visiting his
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J.
A. Stewart.
Mr. Bernard Salkeld, of South
Fork, who has been spending the
summer at this place, went to
Wells Valley, Friday, where ho
will visit friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Baltzer Cutchall
of McConnellsburg, were visiting
with relatives at Harrisonville,
over Sabbath.
