Scheuck, has erected a large slaughter house on his premises at this place. SIPES MILL. Bennett H. Mellott is very ill with diphtheria. Mrs. Edith Mellott litis been sick for some time. She has lost the sight of one eye, and the oth er is very weak. It is feared she will be entirely blind. Mrs. Efho Wink, who has been ailing for a few days, is better at present. The teachers' local institute on last Friday night was largely at tended. Six teachers present, and questions aud queries were ably discussed and intelligently answered. The boys of Sipes Mill furnished string music for the occasion. Miss Inez Akers, of Akersville, has been visiting the family of Mrs. M. Akers for several days. Iua is very jolly aud a crack marksman. Tramps, beware! Quito a number of young folks were delightfully entertained at the home of Mrs. M. Akers on last Saturday evening. E. N. Akers, accompanied by M. P. The institute held at Buffalo, on Friday night last was a deci ded success. The literary work rendered by some of the pupils that eveniug shows what is being done at Buffalo this winter. First topic discussed by the teachers, "How do you teach Physiology?" It was discussed by G. A. Duvall, Harvey Sharpe, and others. The second was, "The Elements of Success," which wasdiscussed by G.
