This was because of the adoption of the constitutional amendments last lall which provides for the election of ( state officers in even numberd years and county officers in odd numbered ' years. Next year will be an odd number. The pupils of the third, fourth ■ and fifth grades of the Laporte school procured ballots and on the afternoon of election day voted. Twenty voted and out of that number eighteen were straigh Dem ocratic. They were all very ' familiar with the ticket and its meaning and needed no assistance in makring it. The rest of the other party seemed to think that the man from "Blue Point Bay" , has a good chance for some work in Laporte. Social Dance.
