Forest lires did quite a lot of damage to timber land belonging to F. If. McCarty last week, the timely rain helped to quell its destructive progress. Earle More made a trip to Jenn ings ville. Wyoming Co., last week to see his sister Alice Adams who was admitted on Monday to the Sayre Hospital for an operation for cancer which proved successful and she is doing very nicely at this writing. S. I'. Shoemaker and E. E. Jennings made a trip to Williams port last week as Delegate to the Grange Lodge of the I. O. O. F. held at that place. There will be an ice cream and box social on Saturday evening June the 4th. at Estella, for the benefit of the Christain church, the girls are requested to prepare one lunch box for two, everybody is invited to attend. Mrs. George Brown of Breezy summit is visiting her daughter Mrs. Charles Webster of Overton. The Estella Tigers played their first game of the season at Shunk. with the Sliunk nine, which re sulted in a score of I' 2 to 3 in favor of the Tigers. Memorial Day.
