The Telephone Exchange for the
Bell long distance, the Sullivan
County and the Muncy Creek tele
phone lines has been placed in
Wm. Loeb's store. "Uncle Bill"
is the very accomodating ''Hello
girl" at the Exchange.
Jacob lleese of Muncy Valley,
went to Towanda to spend Labor
Day, fell in with bad company and
when he awoke next morning his
gold watch, gold ring and money
were missing.
Nearly 25,000 automobile tags
have been issued by the state offi
cials this year, and the demand is
keeping up.
The final game of the series be
tween Murraytown and Sonestown
will be played on the grounds of
the Laporte Athletic Association
Saturday. As both teams are pop
ular at Laporte a [good crowd is
expected.
The sacrament of the holy com
munion will be administered in St.
John's Protestant Episcopal church
on Sunday morning September l:t,

Miss Anna Russel, daughter of

The Pennsylvania Electric Asso
ciation held its annual convention
this week at Eagles Mere Park.
The delegates were guests at the
Forest Inn.
Laura Fiester, Katie Peters. Ma
bel Hunter, Cecil Botsford, Harry
Hunter and Frank Botsford, all of
Nordmonfc, are students at the La
porte High School.
A new plank side-walk has been
laid in front of the Laporte Hotel,
and a cement walk in front of E. J.
Mullen's lot adjoining Mr. Gallag
her's property.

than ever before, are being made
for the Forksville Fair. Every
body in the county should attend.

Notice is hereby given that an appli
cation will be made to the Court of Com
mon I'leas of Sullivan County, on the 23d
day of September, A. I)., 1908, at 10
o'clock a. in., under the provisions of an
Act of Assembly, approved April 6, 1893,
and its supplements, for a Charter for an
intended corporation to be called "Loyal
Alpha", the character ami object ol
which are the formation of a secret fra
ternal beneficial society, order or associa
tion; to provide relief bv insurance, upon
the mutual or assessment plan of mem
bers or beneficiaries in case of sickness,
disability or death, in compliance with
its constitution, laws and regulations, and
for these purposes to have, possess and
enjoy, all the rights, benefits and privi
leges conferred by the said Act of 1893
and the supplements thereto.
The principal place where the business
of said corporation is to be transacted,
within the Commonwealth ot Pennsyl
vania, is the Borough ot Laporte, County
of Sullivan and State of Pennsylvania.
