A\ ORDINANCE.
To establish sidewalk grades and
Citrb liucj- oti tho various streets
in the Borough of Lat»orte, Pennsyl
vauia, altciiny width of Main street
bc-twi.t-n Spring Alley and West .street
fixing distances of side, walk lines
from viirb lines, providing for letting
by contract any borough improvement
1 and providing penalty for non con
formance with this ordinance.
[ Section I.lit it enacted aud or
dained by the Town Council of I.a
porte Borough in regular meeting as
-1 sembled, and ii is hereby enacted and
ordained by the authority of the same,
i that grades for sidewalks be hereby
adopted upon the following strec-ts:
On Cherry street from Maple street
! to Spring Alley. On Meylert street
' bom Maple street to Spring Alley.
i On Main street from Maple street to
A. Rose's horse: oil Park street from
. Maple stt ect to west corner of Catholic
Ohuieli lot. On Maple street from
Park street to Cherry street. On
C'nirt .street from Park street to Cherry

street to south corner of Stormont's

street from Main street to Cherry

Section 2.
That the following levels are hereby
fixed and determined as and for the
levels and grades upon which all the
side walks now in use and hereafter
to be built shall be constructed: (Here
follow the levels and grades in detail
refered to in sections five and |
seven of this ordinance.) And j
it is established that as a basis foil
determining the grades hereinafter |
set forth the Bench Mark on top j

Section 3. All side walks herein

borough aforesaid shall conform 10
the grades established in this ordin
ance: and if the owner or owners of
any lots fronting thereon shall neglect
or refuse to construct said sidewalks,
upon the said grades, for fifteen days
after written notice, served bv ordei
ot the Horotigh Council, upon the
owner, owners agent, tenants eir at - j
torners it shall be the duty of the
Borough Council to cause said walk
to be so built and the cost thereof.'

Section 4. Curb lines are hereby es
tablished as follows: On all streets eighty

gineer, which plevations. grades and die
tunces are given 111 detail in said ordin

entered in full in the Borough Ordiuanee
Book.
Section 6. -The Town Council shall
have full power aud authority to let. by
contract, the furnishing ot materials for
and the construction of, any street cross
ing. sidewalks or pavement, any street
curb 01 other improvement or building;
provided before such contract can be let
notices oft he work to be done shall be in
serted iti at lea*' one newspaper, publish
ed in the County of Sullivan and in the
Ikirough of La|ujrte if there be one, for at
i leas* one week's issue previous to the let
ting of such contract which notice shall
state a here plans and specifications ot the
work to be done can be seen atid shall in
vite bids for its performance.
