Bar re, formerly of this place, has
been awarded some extensive build
ing contracts for the coming sum
mer which shows indication that
building operations are about to re
sume and return prosperity to our
land.
Vagrant breezes wandering from
the South were hurrying past the
County Seat Tuesday at a velosity
which re iiinded pedestrians they
were in La Porte on a March day.
Claud Vanliorn, a youth of 18
years, was brought to 4he county
jail Wednesday to answer a charge
of sodomy and buggery at next
term of court.
Blessed is the man who does not ex
pect to be county commissioner of
Sullivan County lor he will not be
among the army of disappointed
ones.
The price of meat has been raised
another cent by the Chicago combine.
There are several reasons, but the
chief one is that it wanted the
money.
Rev. T. F. Hippie and wife left for
York I'a. on Monday to attend the
M. K. Conference held at that place
this woek. This being the close of
the third year of Mr. Ripples fruit
ful labor on this charge, he is ached
j uled to be removed to another field.

i may be returned to this charge
which comprises Lal'orte, Eagles
Mere and Nordniont. For many
years Lal'orte has been the resident
village for the Pastor, but it lias now
been changed to Kagles Mere.
Bradstreet says living is getting
cheaper. This will probably put a
stop to Editors wanting to sell their
plants. If Bradstreet is correct they
can possibly altord to live and goon
with their publication.
Bank wrecker Walsh, of Chicago,
gets five years in penitentiary, and
smiles at the severity ol the law
which punishes such a rich maellae
tor as if he nad stolen a loaf of bread
instead of millions of dollars.
