The little son of Mr. and Mrs,
John Lovelace met with a ser
ious accident Tuesday evening.
The little fellow had found an old
; pipe which he was holding in his
mouth while playing on the back
porch of his parent's home, when
he fell off the porch which is four
or live feet from the ground. He
fell on his face and the stem of the
pipe penetrated the roof of his
mouth inflicting an ugly wound,

Hospital Wednesday morning.

Hides and Regulations as published in
Circular No. 1 which reads as .ollows:
"All physicians pracdcing within tin*
limits ol'the Stat'.-shall make an imnied
iale report of every case occuring in their
practice ol the diseases hereinaller speci
fied, if occuring in a city or borough, to
the St-c.relui'\ ol the Hoard of Health ot
such city or borough, and if occuring
withi.i the limits ol a township, to the
County Medical Inspector if the county
in which sui I township may be located,
and also to the department of Health at
llarrishurg," be amen led to read as
lollows:
All physicians practicing within the
limits of the S ale shall make an immed
iale report ol every case occuring in their
practice ol the diseases hereinafter speci,
lied, if occuring in city or borough, to the
Secretary ol the Hoard of Health. Bureau
ol Health or Sanitary Committee ol such
citv or borough, and if occuring within
die limits of a township, to the Health
(lllicer in charge ol the township in which
said patient may be located.

PROVIDED, further that when a
vacancy shall be known to exist in the
position of Health < >llieer in any township
the report of such cases occuring within
the limits ol such township shall be made
directly to the State Department of
Health.
RKSOLVED: That physicians or
others in charge of hospitals cituated in
cities or boroughs shall report cases ot
diseases hereinaller specified occuring in
cities and boroughs lo the respective local
Boards or Bureaus ol llealih or Sanitary
Committees of such cities or boroughs,
daily, and report all such cases of coin
municable disease received from territory
outside ol cities or boroughs to die State
department of Health at llarrishurg at
the end of each week.
I'HOYIDKD, that in any city or
borough not having a Board of Health
or Bureau ol Health or Sanitary Com
mittee, the report of such cases occuring
within the limits of said city or borough
shall be made directly lo the Department
ol Health.
RKSnLYKD: That physicians or
others in charge of hospitals situate in
the respective townships outside of cities
and boroughs shall report cases of the
diseases hereinafter specified received
from cities and boroughs to the respective
local health authorities of the cilies and
boroughs from which the cases aretaken,
daily, provided Ibal where such city or
borough has no Board of Health, Bureau
ol Health or Sanitary Committee, the re
port of such cases shall be made directly
to the Department of Health, and shall
retiort all such cases received from the
townships outside of cities and boroughs
to the State Department ol Health at
llarrishurg at the end ol each week.
RKSOLY F.D. That when none ol the
diseases hereinaller enumerated occurs in
,i citv or borough during any calendar
month, a report ol this fact shall be made
by the Secretary of the Hoard or Bureau
of Health oi ' aniiary Committee at the
end ol such month lo the Department of
Ileal h at Harrisbuig on the report cards
supplies for this purpose.
KLSOLYKD. That the quarantine
period for cases of scarlet fever shall be
30 days from the date ol onset of the dis
ease, provided that at the end of said
period the physician in charge certifies in
writing that desquamation has entiiely
and absolutely ceased,
The diseases referred lo above and of
which report is required to be made by
physicians and health authorities are as
follows: Actinomycosis, Anthrax, Bub
onic lilflgue, Epidemic Cereltro Spinal
Meningitis (Spotted Fever), Chicken-pox,
Cholera, Diphtheria, (So-called membra
nous croup, diphtheritic sroup, putrid
sore throat, should be reported as diphth
eria). Epidemic Dysentery, Erysipelas,
licrman Measles, < I landers, Hydrophobia,
Leprosy, Malaria Fever, Measles. Mumps,
Pneumonia (true), Puerperal Fever, Re
lapsing Fever. Small-pox, Scarlet Fever,
(So-called scarlatina and scarlet rash
should be reported as scarlet fever,) Te
tanus, Trachoma, Trichiniasis, Tubercu
losis (specify what form). Typhoid Fever.
Typhus Fever, Whooping Cough and
Yellow Kever.

HESOLVED: That in the opinion of
the Advisory Board and the Commissioner
ol Health a person who has had the
operation for vaccination faiihlully per
formed three times, at intervals of two
successive weeks, without success is for
the time being immune from small-pox,
and, further, that under the present law
persons who hav» a written certificate
from a reputable physician that two such
attempts to vaccinate were faithfully
performed and a second certificate from a
physician of the State Department ol
Health, or of a Bord or Bureau of Health
or Sanitary Committee of a City or Boro
ugh may be admitted to school for one
year without violating the spirit of the
law, the object ol which is simply to
prevent the spread of small-pox.
