Haven, and expected to take posses
sion the first of the year. Mr.
Latter has a host of friends in this
county who wish him prosperity in
his new field.

ure Rocks, spent Sunday with rela
tives at this place.
Miss Agnes Upman was the guest
of her sister, Mrs. R. L. Bussler # of
Eagles Mere, over the holidays.
Mrs. Leo Wrede of Lebonan, is
the guest of her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. W. B. Ritter.
W. li. Ritter attended the funeral
of his brother-in-law at New Col
umbia, returning home on Saturday.

lined to her room with illness sev
eral days of last week.

nervous collapse on Christinas day

A state charter has been granted
to the-Pittsburg and Clear Held rail
road company, ft is to build a line
I ti! miles long from Pittsburg to
Clearfield, wher6 it will connect with
the Pittsburg, Binghamton and Kas
tern, recently formed out of several
smaller roads.

Miss Edna E. Lewis of Hillsgrove
and J. Kramer McDaniel of Muncy,
were married Dec. 25, 1900, by Rev.
Mr. Munyan of Muncy. The happy
couple left on the early train Wed
nesday morning for a visit to Wash
ington D. C'., Baltimore and other
Southern cities. They will reside
on East Water street, Muncy, I*n.
Their many friends extend congrat
ulations.
During the time that a squad of
the State Constabulary were station
ed at this place last spring, little cu
pid was not idle and a romance that
had its beginning while the troopers
were watching the streams in this
vicinity, had its culmination on
December 25, in the marriage of
Mr. John P. Butler of Troop 8.,
stationed at Wyoming, and Miss
Maine Gallagher, eldest daughter of
Mr. and Mrs, Frank Gallagher of
the Laporte Hotel. The bride is a
most estimable young lady with a
host of friends who unite with us in
wishing she and her husband a hap
py wedded life.
