KM TOR: I desire to call tli« attention of i your readers to a movement on I foot among some of the .Sunday I School workers of Sullivan County ! to maintain and develope interest in I Sunday Sehool work. At present the proposal is to hold ' a number of local or district eonven i tion or rallies in different parts of the I county. The object of these is lb discuss methods of teaching the bible i to the young, middle aged and old j and also lay plans for the advance-i | merit of the best interest of all who come under the influence of the Sun day School. I believe that good singing and cheerful social iutercours will characterize these gatherings. Good things should not be kept in a corner. Good people should not im agine that the Hible and its teaching is of interest to them alone. Christ came in contact with all classes of society. Why should his followers have a corner in religion. The exalt ed religious principles of our fore fathers are now regarded by both saint and sinner as the priceless her itage of the nation. We can now see errors in their religious beliefs and in their daily practices but un derneath all we recognize high aims. In order to perpetuate these princi ples it is necessary that the young trained to believe that good character is a higher consideration than either wealth or fame. The Sunday School aims to do this class of work. Let the citizens of whatever faith give their aid and approval to the Sunday School workers. The times and places for holding these conventions will be an nounced locally and likely through the press. A cordial invitation to attend is extended to all who are in terested in this work and tothe gen end public. If present plans are carri lod into effect, conventions will he held beginning on Friday of next | week June lit It, at ilillsgrove in theafternoon and evening and on i Wednesday and Thursday following j in Elkland and Forks twps.
