Tom Uansel a son of James Uansel while playing with some boys near the Commercial Hotel Saturday last I found a small can of powder and thinking it would be good sport to see it burn, threw a lighted match in the can of powder causing him to be severely burned about the face and hands. The Bell Telephone Co. are at work placing poles from Overton to Forksville preparatory to extending their line to western Sullivan county, including Shutik and Wheelerville. Recently a company of county capit alists subscribed to a stock fund, the purpose of which was to Establish > a line where the Bell Company are | now planning to operate. The main fact that Mr. Oarfleld is said to have ascertained is that the packers unite from day today to fix the prices of beef. That is a clear violation of the injunction laid on them by a Federal court, and if their daily meetings can be proved to the tatisfaction of a court they can be fined so heavily that the com bination must be shattered.
