His visit at this office revealed to us the fact that he is among the large num ber of interested News Item readers who enjoy having their subscription paid in advance. Although not uncommon, yet for some reason it has been more notice able the past few weeks to see huge notices generously distributed around on the county seat side walks by the cattle that run the streets giving due notice,in day time,of that portion of the side walks reserved for their use only. These notices get so baldy disfigured by evening travelers that the ever faithful herd lose no time in "striking proofs" and re-bill the walks with their impressive adver tisements every morning. Our few summer visitors enjoyed their part of the program in this particular di version the town has afforded them quite as well as do the children, mischievously inclined, on their way to Sunday School, who accomplish their designed purpse of bringing the sickening odors from the side walks on their shoes into the houses of worship on the Sabbath day.
