Burglars effected an entrance by
means of a rear window into P.
Daly's restaurant on Friday night.
Mrs. Daly was awakened by the
noise and they were scared away.
Whether they were after valuables
or a ease of hecr which stood by the
window, is not Uno.vn,but Mrs.Daly
recognized one of them. It is safe
to say that local talent was in the
enterprise.

The first Annual Commencement
of St. Basil's School took , place on
Thursday evening June 22. The
class of'9o consisted of three young
Indies; Miss Margaret I'inan, Miss
.Mary M. Carroll and Miss Viola M.
Decgan. The class was given the
final examination by Supt. Meylcrt
and passed with an average of !•.">.
The essays were of a very high char
acter and the entertainment taken as
a whole,showed much careful train
ing.
Mrs. Charles ('roll,who has been
-criously ill, is reported improving.
