WOMAN FOUD
LYING ON SIDEWALK
Is Subject to Fits and Is the Same
One Whe Recently Spent the Night
in Lehigh Station.
A woman who is probably Mrs Sly-
ter, who spent the night in the Le
high Valley station recenuy walling
for her husband, was found lying on
the sidewalk on South Elmer avenue
in front of the vacant Jot near
Wright's grocery store about one
o'clock this afternoon. Two men raw
the woman and lifted her to her feet
She leaned agalnst the high board
fence for a moment and then fell for-
ward again. The hospital ambulance
wus summoned and she was taken to
that institution. A Record epresen-
tative telephoned to the hospital and
the person who answered the phone
was unahle to give out any loforma-
tion.
Later, however, it wus ‘earned that
the woman was Mrs, Slyter, and that
she fell In front of Williams & Sut-
ton’s shoe store last night. She was
carried Into the store and a physi-
cian summoned. Later In the even-
ing a kind hearted citizen gave her
two dollars and told her to go to a
‘hotel and secure accommodations for
‘the night It was learned this morn-
ing that instead of guing tv the hotel
she went to Waverly and this morning
| was found in the walting room of the
'D. L. & W. depot.
The woman appears to be suffer-
{ing from fits and it seems as if she
{ought to be cared for by friends or

GIRL SAID THAT SHE WAS SUP.
FEKING FROM HEART TROUBLE
Lay on the Floor of the D., L. & W.
| Station for Half an Hour This
Morning Then Got Up and
Departed.
Waverly—There was a girl in the
D, L. & W. station this morning who
after wailing there for some time
seemed suddenly to fall into a fit
She lay on the floor for nearly half
an hour, and when questioned, she
sald that she was suffering from heart
trouble, and that an especially severe
attack brought on such spells as she
then had. She remained on the floor
for some UUme, squirming about
Those who saw her were of the im-
pression that she was shamming for
some cause or other. When further
questioned she sald that she had had
iwD similar attacks while at Savre
yesterday. She also said that she was
married, and that she was expecting
her husband, who was in Elmira, to
come down on the train that was due
at about that time. The train came
and went, but no one alighted who
seemed to know her. After lying on
the floor for a while longer she arose
and left the station. :
SOME PARTY MEN
DON'T LIKE ISSUE.
Republican Wish to Support Ticket,
But Many Are Opposed to Munich
pal Ownership of Public Utilities.
Waverly—The action of the Village
Republican committee at the meeting
held a few days ago for the purpose
of making plans for the coming vil-
lage election, seems to have lead to
considerable dissatisfaction among
some of the members of the G. 0. P.
The committee decided that the cam-
paign should rest upon the {ssue of
municipal ownership of the public
utilities; the water works, of course,
being the case in point. Some of the
Republicans experss a desire to sup-
port the Republican ticket, but an-
nounce themselves as being opposed
to the public ownership of public
utilities, As one Republican express-
ed it, “I want to support the Repub-
lican ticket, but do not want to come
