LEHIGH RAISES ITS DIVIDEND TO 8 PER CENT, At a Meeting of Board of Directors Held Yesterday. In keeping with the anticipation the board of directors of the Lehigh Valley Raliroad Company yesterday nicreased the dividend on the com- mon stock by declaring the regualr semi-annual payment of 2 and adding pne per cent “extra” This places the stock on a sex per cent basis as agaiust four per cent heretofore. Pruyn at Holbert's crossing about one mile of Chemung, about one o'clock this were instantly killed. The wagon which was loaded with wood was completely demolished Holbert's crossing is one of the most dangerous along the Erie. Pruyn, who worked on the Roberts farm near Chemung, was on his way to Waverly. Edna May Roll and Pasquale Altiera, Both Died Yesterday of the Same Disease. Edna May Rolf, an Infant a little over one month old, died of croup at the home of Mrs. Victoria McBride, at No. 114 North River street yester- day afternoon. The funeral will be held from the house tomorrow after- noon at two o'clock. Burial at Tio- ga Point cemetery. The arrange ments are in charge of Grumme's undertaking establishment. Pasquale Altera, the two mouths’ old child of Michael Altiera of Holly street, died yesterday at the home of its parents of croup. Fred Hakes, the well known car- penter, who left this morning for Baltimore, met with quite a serious accident yesterday afternoon Mr Hakes was golng to his home on Frederick street, He was carrying an armful of groceries and was wear- ing a pair of shoes which were very smooth on the bottom part of the soles. He slipped on the stone pave- ment and fell forward, his face strik- ing the pavement, inflicting several bruises. This morning when he de- parted both eyes were nearly swol- len shut.
