Lew Skinner, a Lebigh Valley Justice Nelson this morning on a charge of desertion aad noassup-. port, preferred by his wife, Carrie Skinner, The complainant is net over seventeen years old and was married to Skinner in Juce last, Ia her complaint she alleges that her husband has neglected to support or provide lor her wants from the very first, notwithstands ing that he receives fron the rail- road company in the neighbor hood of eighty dollars per inoath. He says that he has cnly bought her one pair of shoes since they were married, and that at the pres ent time she is weariog a pair cf her husband's stockings, while he is bestowing his affictions and money on another woman. BUSTER BROWN Next Tuesday evening the mans agem:nt of the Ljomis cpera house has secured as its attraction “Buster Brown,” the master suc cess of the year in the somewhat overcrowded field of musical com edy. ‘Buster Brown" nceds no introducing enconiums, we all know his face. All the ctildr:n have worn clothes fashioned after his. It need only be said there- fore that this is a second or new edition of the comedy in every feature. The scenery, costumes, music and songs are spic and span with newness, while the cast, headed by the little chap who fairly exudes mirth, Master Rosen is away and ahead of any yet seen we are promised. “Buster Brown" should be largely welcomed. James, who has been superintendent of the new Lehigh Valley shops at this place since they first began operation a year ago, tendered his resignation tos day to take cflcct on the 15th of the present month, The resignas tion of Mr. James comes as a sur prise to the railroad men and the shop employes. His future plans have not as yet been revealed, nor has his successor been named. He came here from Buffido where he had beea employed as master me- chacic for the company. He was the first superintendent of the new shops at this place. Mr, James’ resignation will be sincerely res gretted by the men who have been employed under him THOMAS HOLNES HE TO COUNT Charged With Aggravated As- sault by Susan Berhans. This forenoon Thomas Holmes was given a hearing before Justice Carey cn a charge of aggravated assault preferred by Susan Ber- bans. The latter is 74 years of age and she alleges that on the Gth day of November Holmes hit her over the head with a club and otherwise maltreated and abused her. At the hearirg this morning the commonwealth was represented by District Attorrey Mills and Paul E. Maynard, while Holmes’ interests were looked alter by the Hon. L. T. Hoyt, of Athens. Holmes was held to the next court of quarter sessions in the sum of $200 bail. E; A. Wilber qualified in this sum and Holmes was released. POSTOFFICE MOVED The Sayre peste fice has been moved. On Saturday the furnish ings and cquipment were transs ferred to the new location in the Richards block on Desmond street, and the patrons will hereafter get their mail at that p'ace. The new location has been fitted up in the most approved manner and Sayre now has a postcfice that is in every way up-to-date, While per~ haps there are a few who have been somewhat ir convenienced the location is considered to te central. : MRS. EMMA C. HUDSON Mrs. Emma G. Hudson died at her home 117 Hoover street at 9.45 last evening aged 44 years. She is survived by her husband M. K. Hudson, one son Orrin and one daughter, Mrs. Rosie A. Goodsell of Sayre and two sisters Mrs, Sarah Palmer of Sayre and Mrs Mary Ellis of Athens towaship. The funeral will take place from the house st 1 o'cleck Wednesday and from the M. E. church at 2 o'clock Interment at Tioga Point cemetery Now that the election of the state and county officers has passed it will not be very long before things will be shaping themselves for the elections in the various boroughs and townships of the county. If the firemen vote to strike it will result in a large number of engineers, who have recently been promoted, going out in sympathy.
