the defendant acting on the advice

MISTAKEN INPRESSION
Itis unlawful to kill domesticated
ammals caught destroying crops or
other property. For example, a
person will shoot pigeons or chick
ens found on his premises, doing
damage, under the impression that
he has the night. It is a mistaken
son who does the shooting is
liable to prosecution, The owner
of the pigeons or chickens, how-
ever, is hable for the damage done.
BLOOD COVERED PILOT
An engine came into the round
house from the east this m ring
and shortly after its arrival a (quan
uty of blood was found spattered
on the pilot. Later a cap
was found, which with the discov-
man s
ery of the blood, has given rise to
the belief that the engine struck
and killed some unknown person
during the night. The local offi
cials are unable to learn of anyone
having been killed.
SAWMILL BURNED
The sawmill operated by Eph
nam Swackhammer at Homet's
Ferry burned to the ground be-
tween 8 and 9 o'clock last night.
The origin of the fire is not
known. The loss is total, as it is
said there was no.insurance,
