N. Gould, one of the oil well
drilling force, was in Athens over
night and went to Lovelton this
morning to start up a well there.
Charles Scott of Liberty Corners,
candidate for re-election as jury
commissioner, was looking after
his interests in Athens yeaterday.

John Snyder, a workman in the
Bridge works, received a telegram
from Pittsburg this forenoon in-
forming him that his brother, Con-
rad Snyder, was killed yesterday.
Conrad was a son of Nathan Sny-
der, and the family here resided in
Litchfield until recently, when Mr.
Snyder went to live with a daugh-
ter near Smithboro, N.Y. Con-
rad and a brother, George, were
working for a railroad company
No particulars have been received.
