derella in Flowerland,"
onc of the largest audiences we
highly delighted. Miss Ethel Gray,
only shown great proficiency in
the musical art but she has demon-
strated that she has the rare faculty
of imparting this knowledge to
{those under her charge. The parts
were so well mastered that the
{children performed them, in many
| of the most difficult passages, with
out prompting or accompaniment.
The costumes were rich and the
stage settings natural, and when
the children appeared in the wood-
+ | land bower of evergreen and flow-
ers, it looked like fairyland.
The chorus "Woodland Voices,”
by pupils of the three schools, it
showed how well the voices had
been drilled in time and melody.
The Big Bass Drum gave evolu-
tions in tactics that would make an
old soldier envious. Miss Marguer
solo “La Sentamentaile,” by Singer,
with wonderful precision. The
chorus “Bye-Lo-Land,” by pupils
of tke Page school, was one of the
sweetest of the evening. The chil
parts, blending their voices so pers
fectly as to fill the air with raptur-
ous melody. Miss Ruth Leonard
was a coy little “Cinderella”, whose
daisies set off her smiling counten-
ance with enticing effect, and Miss
Ora Heverly, the “Tiger Lilly,”
was a great success. But we can
not mention all. They deserve it,
for the parts were perfectly repre-
sented, and it was an evening of
rare delight that will linger in
pleasant memory a long time.
Miss Gray deserves the hearty
congratulations of all who were
present for the entertainment she
gave them,
