NOT KNOWN HERE
Yesterday Chief of Police Walsh
received a telegram from the police
for information concerning John
W. Shields, who had fallen dead
on the streets of that city, Shields
carried an M. P. A. life insurance
policy, and he was registered as
belonging to the Sayre lodge. An
investigation, however, developed
the fact that Shicids is not a resi-
dent of Sayre, and is not known
here 7
The police were called to the
residence of William Johnson on
S. Elmer avenue Saturday night,
the inmates of the household have
ing reason to believe that thege
was a burglar about the premises.
An investigation failed to locate
any suspicious characters,

Part of Sayre Will be Added
to the Plans
* The borough council held a
special meeting of Saturday even
ing to listen to a report of the
scwer committee. A committer,
composed of Messrs. Heverly,
West and Walker, recently went
to Harrisburg to confer with the
State Department of Health, and
to submit plans which have already
been drawn for sewers for the bor-
ough. The department recom-
mended that Milltown, the cast
side and the northern part of the
borough be included in the plans,
and the committee so reported to
the council at the meeting on Sat-
urday evening. There was a long
discussion of the matter, during
which one councilman offered to
wager that the sewer project would
be defeated when presented to the
people.
A resolution was finally passed
instructing NF, Walker, the bor-
ough engineer, to survey the dis-
tricts mentioned and make them a
part of the plans already prepared.
Mr. Walker will commence the
work at once and when the plans
are completed they will be sent to
the department at Harrisburg for
approval.
