covered until the flames burst out
near the roof on the cast side and
the alarm was raised and Mr,
Sticke! was telephoned for. Delay
in getting a stream on the fire,
caused by the Maia street hydrant
at the bridge works being out of
order, allowed the fire to gain such
headway so that the joists in the
upper story and east side of the
building were nearly burned off
The houschold goods were very
badly damaged though nearly all
were removed to the next building.
The $500 insurance will not nearly
cover the loss. The house will
have to be almost rebuilt in order
to make it habitable. The fire is
thought to have started from a
spark from the sitting room stove.
