BALEM, Mass, April 16 —~Rev. Ar
thur P. Putnam, D D., a retired min-
ister of the Unitarian faith, died here

FUNERAL YESTERDAY
Waverly—The funeral of the
late Ellis Crandall took place yes
terday afternoon from the home of
Mrs. Topping, Waverly street, and
was largely attended. Rev. Ross
conducted the service and hook
and ladder company No. 5 of Owe-
go attended in a body, the bearers
being members of the company. A
number ol friends from out of town
were also in attendance. The floral
offerings were very numerous and
beautiful. Interment was at Glen-
wood cemetery.

Waverly —Word has been re-
ceived of the death of C M. Clark,
which occurred yesterday morning
at Newark, N. J. Deceased was a
former resident of Waverly and
conducted a confectionery store on
Broad street. Oae sister, Mrs.
Edward Knight, resides at Wila-
wana, and the remains will be
taken to that place Tuesday for in~
terment.
LEAVE OF ABSENCE
J. B. Hutchins, chief train dis-
patcher for the Pennsylvania at this
place, has been granted a leave of
absence until April 23. During
his absence John G. Kinney, who
has been assistant dispatcher, will
