Ex-Chief Vandervelde appeared
in the interest of No. 3 Hose com-
considerable expense to furnish
the new rooms and asked that the
appropriation for the year 1906 be
paid to them now so that they
might pay bills that were necessary
to be paid at once. On motion the
request was granted.
Chief Engineer Willard Spalding
made a report of the fire depart:
ment supplies on hand and “asked
for 500 feet additional hose. This
matter was considered as more
properly belonging to the incoming
new council and will be referred to
them.
S. R. Matteson asked instructions
as to who the combination to the
locks on No. 3 hose house should
be given, but no decision was
given.
Councilman Weiss. mentioned
that the unpleasant odor from the
gas company’s works had not been
abated, although the officers of the
company have reported that their
new machine has been installed
and was in operation. Mr, Tripp
stated that he and Mr. Mulligan
had been to the gas works and h:d
inspected the working of the ma-
chine and they were satisfied that
it would do the work intended
after it has been used a short time.
On motion adjourned to meet
on the afternoon of March 5 at 2
o'clock in order to close up the
business of the year.
