A CHANGE AT LAST
The balmy, spring-like weather
with which this region has been
blessed for several days has at last
changed and the present indications
now are that we will have a near
approach to winter. Yesterday
afternoon shortly before 2 o'clock a
wind and rain storm of short dura-
tion came up from the west and
since then the thermometer has
fallen a few degrees. Today the
weather report says that we are to
have colder weather.

SEVERELY JOLTED
Congressmen
generally were
and politicians
somewhat jolted
recently by a statement coming
from the postoffice department to
the cifect that the policy of the
administration would be to retain
fourth class postmasters in office as
long as they conducted their offices
properly and gave satisfaction to
the community. Also that no
changes would be made in presi-
dential offices where the incumbent
had given good service. It is said
that many of the congressmen are
greatly pleased over the ruling as
it relieves them from much embar
rassment
