SUGH FIRE Waverly —A slight fire occurred this morning at the residence of H. W. Mosier on Moore street. Very little damage was done, only a few shingles being burned around the chimney. The department res- ponded quickly when the alarm sounded, but had considerable difficulty in locating the blaze, and when they reached the scene of the fire it had been entirely extins guished. The deal was closed yes- terday WATER £0. 5105.00 Resolution Passed by the Board of Trustees---A Census of the Viliage Is Also Authorized Waverly —The board of trustees of this willage held a meeting last might at which time the report of Consulting Engineer Vermule in regard to the value of the water works was received. The report was considered in executive session. After the report had been thor- oughly examined the board passed a resolution offering the water company the sum of $105,000 for the water works system Another resolution was passed in accordance with the village law that a census of the village should be taken, and president Tucker was authorized to employ five enumer- ators at $2 per day until the work is completed. COLLEGE CIRLS ENTERTAINED The Misses Jessie and Pauline Angell, Vassar students, at their home at 414 Chemung street, as- sisted by other alumni and students of Vassar, entertained the college girls of the valley from 4 until 7 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Part of the entertainment con- sisted of stunts by the individuals or by the representatives of cach college collectively. Much amuse- ment was derived from this source. The yells of the various institu- tions were given and it is said that the conglamorations of noise pro- duced was such as to fill the spirits ol the aborigines with envy. STOLE BOKES Waverly—Someone stole two boxes valued at $3 each from Bak- er's mills in South Waverly last night.
