Durno, the magician, gave us two
hours of solid enjoyment last even-
Ing at the High School hall. He Is
a wonder and he kept on deceiving us
as he stood before us until we begun
to doubt whether we had any sense
of sight or hearing left. The art of
deception is a pleasing one when used
as Durno uses It, but It makes us
tremble when we imagine the havoc
it might make If turned in a differ-
ent channel. Durno's ticks were
pearly all new to us and so the fas-
cination was complete from begin-
ping to end. He pulled money out
of Floyd Biledleman’s nose and after-
wards a Hve chicken from his pock-
ets, broke another gentleman's fine
watch into antoms and afterwards re-
turned it to him in good condition;
evolved a live duck from a maze of
ribbons out of a man's hat

tity with his assistant, Will Baker, so
often that we were convinced that he
