The church will clear in the neighborhood of one hundred dol- lars as a result of the enterprise, and those who attended were given an opportunity of listening toa musical program which has prob- ably never been equalled in this valley. The regular church choir of twenty-cight voices, assisted by the Rev. Charles Smith, baritone Mrs. George Hill, contralto, and R. L. McAll, organist, rendered a program that was delightful. Mr McAIF is the organist of the Church of the Covenant in New York city. He came to Sayre preceded by an excellent reputa- tion, and his work last night proved beyond a peradventure that he is entitled to all the good things that have heretofore been said concern- ing him. His selections were of the understandable kind. Instead of using classics that are out of reach of the ordinary ‘individual, Mr. McAll selected themes that were for the most part familiar to every one present and therefore greatly appreciated. He isa per fect master of the pipe organ, and under his magic touch the instru mony that at times was entrancing The work of the choir was excellent. Under the direction of C. J. Cary several choruses were rendered in a decidedly pleasing manner. Mry Hill and Mr. Smith sang solos of a high order of merit, and the entire evening's entertain. ment was worthy of all the good things that are being said about it today. The new instrument, which is one of the best of its kind, proved to be all that is claimed for it, and the choir and member of the con- were ever able to get along without it.
