Two Street Fights
The residents of Center street are
up in arms at the conduct of a couple
of families in that part of the town.
Yesterday afternoon these parties
again “showed fight,” and for several
hours the alr was blue with their
profanity and vulgarity two fights be-
ing on the program. Complaint has
frequently been made but
these days several persons will be
landed in the lock up at Towanda.
Something ought to be done to stop
these carousals as the morals, not only
of the street, but of all that section
of the town, are seriously threatened.

That Road Is Coming
Hon. Mial Lilley, representing the

company was waiting for was the
franchises, and as soon as they were
granted operations would begin. It
looks mighty like a road from Wa

Athens Schools. Open
The Athens schools opened yester-
day with a full attendance, notwith-
standing the fact that it was Labor
Day. As he boys and girls flocked
to school in the morning we heard
a stranger in town remark: ‘These
are the brightest, neatest lot of chil-
dren | have seen in a long while”
So say we all.
