The quantity- sent by ralbritd_ this Week Is

week last year.
The quantity sent by - the Lehigh Valley was
88,930 against 41,1'64 tone, and by the Lehigh and
Suaquehinna 18,183 'against 15,185 tons from the
week pflast year.
, The trade is very dull; and all 'our' corree
pondeno abroad state that prices are declining.
The prices of Bituminous are also affected simi
lar to that of Anthracite. The unusual warm
weather is the cause, and to a _great extent
checks consumption.
Orn Philadelphia correspondent writes as
follows;
• 'There Is little to report new In the trade, Which Is
exclusively dull ; the stocks abroad are light, but
seem stlticie.ut for the remarkably warm weather.

The proposed consolidation of several of the most
Important bituminous Coal Companies Is exciting
considerable remark. The proposed pcinsolidatlon is
between the Maryland Coal Company_ and the Cen
tral Coal: Company, the new Conipany to have a .
capital of some' 82),000,100. As the total -amount
ar t which these Companies give in to the consolida
tion is 511,875,000, it leaves a large margin for the
absorption .if other Companies. The new Company
will have under Its control more boats and trans
portation facilities than any other Company in the
Cumberland region, and at the same time comes
into sion of the crunberiand and PettrocSiva
nin oad. It is thought that under one general
head they will be able 'to &Mani better facillilee for
trade, and give more advantages than they could..,
