of Mrs. JOSEPH JONKS. The old lady was

years he has been in Colorado, California,

We can guess what a certain young lady
not far from State street, will find in her
stocking Christmas morning, hut we're 'not
going to give old Santa Chilis away. We

so handsomely remembered, though such ar
ticles do not grow on bushes.

son and dealt a powerful blow on the head.
It was evidently a ease of highway robbery.
The bridge was not lighted. The
Commissioners should see that the bridge is
properly lighted these dark nights.

funeral will take place from the colored
church this afternoon. Friends will meet at
his father's house at 2 o'clock. The deceased
was 18 years old.

Judge Riddle proposes to put a stop to
election frauds in Philadelphia. lie has
just sentenced Mount, charged with tam

SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY.—The

Rev. Dr. TAYLOR, Pastor, will celebrate the
Christmas Anniversary in the church audito
rium. on Saturday evening (Christmas Eve.)
