PROSPECTUS.—"Of making many books
there is no end," and the multiplication of
newspapers is the popular source of educat
ing the people. We arc aware that the idea
is quite preyelent that Bradford County has
too many papers, but with the large number
not one is wholy devoted to the interest of
the great producing class —the agricultur
ists—and at the urgent solicitation of some of
the best practical farmers in the county, we
have decided to commence about the first of
the new year, a, local agricultural weekly,
especially adapted to the wants of the farmers
of this section. The contributors to the
paper will embrace the best practical farmers
in the county, and we shall aim to make it
of real value to every tiller of the soil, dairy
man and stock raiser in the county, by giv
ing the results of experiments by those in
whom the classes interested have confidence,
and whose success in business is an evidence
fo thorough practical knowledge.
The paper will contain a condensation of
the general news and the fullest local notes.
Fuller particulars hereafter.

A dispatch from Tunkhannoek under date
of December 3, says:—'The general agent of
the Singer Sewing Machine Company at this
place disappeared on Wednesday morning of
tin's week, leaving behind him considerable
indebtedness. At the same time Mrs. ISAAC
LITTLE, of Nicholson, near here, and wife
of the ex-Postmaster there, left her home.
The two had been for some time intimate to
a noticeable extent. The last trace of them
was at Scran ton, since which nothing lias
been heard of them. The name of the agent
is W. R. WILLIS, a married man. It is not
known as yet what is the state of his accounts
with the sewing machine company.

ALVOHD of the ToWanda REVIEW will |
commence the publication of a local agricul- |
tural paper soon after the holidays. Such a
paper snould pay in a large agricultural
county like Bradford and when edited by a
man of Mr. ALVOHD'S experience and ability
will undoubtedly succeed. — Waverly Review.
