giving day with his parents in this place.
E. F. INGIIAM and RUSH THOMPSON of
the Sullivan county bar, were in Towanda
yesterday.
A. 11. KINGSBURY and wife ate their din
ner Thanksgiving day wiih Mrs. K.'s aged
parents in Browntown.
"\V. H. POOL and wife of Wilkesbarae were
the guests of Mrs. JVs parents Thursday.
They returned home yesterday.
Mr. FRED L.VMOUEUX, the Binghamton
dancing master, will organize a dancing class
11 this place next Friday evening.
Mrs. MORY, an aged lady, and a good and
faithful member of the M. E. church in
Monroe, died on the morning of the 22d inst,.
She leaves an aged and diseased husband, of
some TO years of age.

Mr. J, A. BKBKR, receiver of the Lycom
ing Eire Insurance Company reports that it
will he necessary to make another assessment
of *2l or 22 per cent to meet the liabilities of
the Company.
PERRY MILLER, died at his mother's resi
dence in Sugar Run Thursday afternoon and
will be buried this afternoon in Terrytown.
Deceased was about 44 years old and unmar
ried. He wr.s well known and for several
past bed been the obliging clerk at the Wya
iusing Hotel.
A report was 111 circulation yesterday to
the efleet that one of GEO. FAIRCHILD'S Bar
bers had the small pox. On the authority of
Dr. NEWTON we contradict the false rumor.
The man had the disease t w ice yeais ago.
There are no eases of small pox in town.
Captain Seargeut S. Day, of Glouchester,

The percentage of attendance in the High
School department was 1)7, which, being the
best in the building, gives it the prize banner
for this month, and Josie Kiliiea being the
tirst in scholarship in this school is the espe
cial custodian of the banner.
The roll exercises of the present school
month take place Friday afternoon, Decem
ber 23d, at half past one o'clock, to which the
directors and parents are particularly and ur
gently invited. As the rolls of honor contain
a summary of the month's work it is of mo
ment that the parents should attend on these
occasions, and encourage their children by
their presence to make determined efforts in
study, attendance, punctuality and conduct,
so that their names may be found on the
monthly rolls.
