About, the busiest place in town is the Five
Cent Store. The designation, by the way, is
a misnomer. It should he called the Bazaar,
as it contains almost everything; articles from
the lowest to the highest price. It is a favor
ite resort for the ladies. One of the firm
goes to New York this week to buy new
goods.

Pomona Grange, No. 23, I*. of 11., composed of
Bradford and Sullivan counties, will hold its next
regular Quarterly meeting at the Hall of Spring
Hill Grange, No. 178, on Thursday, November 3rd,
ISSI, at one o'clock, P. M. Those going by Rail
Road will leave at Wyaluaing where conveyances
will be in waiting. A general attendance is reques
ted, as business of importance is to be transacted,
together with the election of officers for the ensuing
year. Evening session will be open, and all are in
vited to attend.

Crystal Lodge, No 57, Knights of Honor of
this place, have reduced their initiation fee
from SIO.OO to $5.00. This Lodge now has a
membership of over 90 members, composed
of our host citizens, and pays to the Widows
and Orphan's Benefit Fund at each assess
ment over SIOO. It gives its members an in
surance of $2,000, which has cost on an aver
age, since the foundation of the order, $ll.OO
per vear and pays a sick benefit of $3 per i
week in case of sickness or disability. This'
Order has actually paid to Widows and Or
phans since 1873. the sum of $4,446,000. Eor

1. The Fifth Annual Encampment of the
PostH of the Grand Army of the Republic of
Bradford and adjoining counties and the re
unio . of the soldi* rs and sailors will be held
in East Towanda, on the Fair Ground on the
11th. 12th and 13th of October, 1881.
2. All Posts, Military Companies, Soldiers,
Sailors and Marines are invited to be present
and participate in the encampment.
5. A general : ivitation is al'O extended to
, cil'zens who hi've an interest in the re-union
and a ■ v s'tors. Their presence heretofore has
been a pleasant and agreeable feature of our
encampment and we again offer them a sol
-1 di>v's greeting and bid t hem come.
4. Comrades to provide themselves with
tb'ee days cooked rations, blankets, towels,
j r as far as po -ible with tents.
5. All the Posts, Companies, etc.- are re
quited to reoort at lie 'quarters by 1 o'clock
. m., Oct. 11th, and Wul make out duplicate
.oils of their commands, one of which they
w"l hand to the Adjutant of the en
campment, on reporting, and the other to
be retained as the muster roll of the com
mand.

i or organize in separate companies, and elect
their own officers, provided they number

7. The exercises will consist of drils, J
guard mounting, daess parade, sham battles,
court martinis, songs speeches end camp
sports.
8. Distinguished speakers will he present j
and deliver addresses.

prizes to the three Posts showing the greatest

ed tactics; $5 as first prize, $3 as second
prize, and $2 as a third prize. All Posis com

10. It is with pitde that we refer to the j

mands in former one mpments. Let no act
of unseemly conduct mar the propriety of
this, and we shall show ourselves wortliv the
name of Comrade. Commanders of Posts
and companies will he held reponsible for
tht! conduct of I lie men under their charge
and are especially urged to prohibit itoxica
tion so far as possible.
11. We extend a cordial invitation to the
public generally, the ladies, and all who feel
an interest, in such a re-union, and we hope
and trust that litis annual gathering may fos
ter a >pjrit of fraternal good will and patriot
ic impuUcs that will he cherished in all our
active life.
12. Lilli" Post will he mounted and act as
escort from Towanda to the camp ground in
' the forenoon of the first day.
