SMITH and occu pied by DENNIS FLINN, in North Towanda, was burned early yesterday morning. The building was insured for S3OO. No insurance on contents and the loss falls heavily on Mr. FLINN, who is a poor hard working man. The fire originated from a defective flue, as it was discovered just after lighting the kitcu en stove. The following new Rule relating to jurors and witnesses was adopted by the Court on Wednesday: RULE XXXIV. 1. To the end that the due attendance of jurors and witnesses may be better secured, the l'ro thonotarv immediately after calling the gen eral list of Traverse Jurors each day, shall read aloud this Rule, viz: 2. When a Juror fails to answer upon be ing called into the box, the Protlionotary shall make a note thereof in the court min utes, and the Juror shall not be allowed pay for that day, unless a satisfactory excuse he shown for such failure; and the Court may also, in its dicretion, impose a fine on such Juror. 3. If a witness is not present when called, and his absence causes delay, unless a suffi cient excuse is shown, no pay for that day shall be allowed him; and the Court may al so, in its discretion, impose a line on such witness.
