Among other interesting features it contains the opening chapters of a thrilling Scandina vian romance, written by WILHELM JENSEN, and translated from the German by the edit or's accomplished sister. Miss LILLIE MER CUR, who also contributes quite largely to other departments of the paper. The Mer cury is one of the best, if not the best ama teur paper published in the slate. A pie-nic party numbering about one hun dred. composed mostly of North Towanda people, with a load or two from South Tow anda and the borough, visited the poor house on Saturday. The President has done well this morn ing. His temperatere has fallen half a degree since the last bulletin was issued.
