The Rev Dr. CRAFT, of Wyaiusing, Pa.,
occupied the pulpit of the First Presbyterian
church yesterday, morning and evening.
Both of his sermons were of an essentially
gospel character, thoroughly permeated with
the essence and the spirit of Christianity. In
the evening his discourse was founded on the
words in Deutoronomv, xxxii,3L: "For their
lock is not our rock, even our enemies them
selves being judges." The point aimed at and
reached was the beauty and excellence of tlie
Christian religion, and testified to by its ene
mies. It was shown by a series of illustra
tions and arguments that were apt and con
vincing, and uttered in sincere and positive
maimer. The large attendance at both servi
ces manifested by their attention and evident
interest that the sermons were pleasing.—El
