IMPORTANT TO REAL ESTATE PURCHAS ERS.—Every owner of real estate ought to know that the laws of Pennsylvania proyide that all deeds and conveyances made but not recorded within six months thereafter shall be fraudulent and void against any subsequent purchaser or mortgages for valu able consideration. The county records aro the only proof of good title. The following item from the Tunkbannock Standard will interest many of our readers: Rev. S. L. Conde informs us that he will run three excursions from this point to the sea coast during the coming season. Mr. Conde as an excursion manager is a success. He with his aides-de-camp will get up and ruu an excursion and give better satisfaction than any other man in this section of the country. We predict that the exchequer of the Presbyterian church at this place will be in a flourishing condition at the end of the season. Another illustration of the old proverb that a "lie travels faster than the truth," is furn ished in the fact that our exchanges are still printing the notice thatCiiAS. REED, a young gentleman who was quite active iu the Mur phy movement hereabouts several years ago had been arrested in Kansas City charged with robbery. The Elmira Advertiser stated several days ugo,on the authority of a reliable gentleman of that city who had just returned from Kansas City, that Mr. REED was clearly proven to be entirely innocent of the charge. But the world likes to keep a man down. Decoration Day. HEADQUARTERS WATKINS ) POST NO. 08, G. A. R., J TOWANDA, Apl. 30. 'Bl. Special Order No. 2. I.
