The Jl/ansfield Advertiser says: "A Rut
land man named BAKER was arrested last
Monday for stealing and killing sheep and
selliug the pelts. lie had disposed of some
half a dozen pelts to STEPHEN W. BEACH

It i° not generally known that some of the
umber products of our county fiud a market
in foreign lands. Dressed hoop poles are
now being shipped from Wilmot township to
New York. whence they are sent
shooks (in bundles) to Cuba. There they
are set up—tilled with sugar and many of
them returned to the States. The material
for the hogsheads is packed in bundles to les
sen the bulk and 011 arrival at the West In
dies is put together in short order—every
thing being in readiness.
Ash lumber is occasionally sent to Califor
nia from this section—there being a demand
in the golden State for it in the manufacture
of various articles. For some special uses
our coal is unexcelled—our butter is the high
est in the Philadelphia market —our stock is
equal to that of any other county in the State
—so on the whole we lav claim to Bradford
being one of the banner counties of the
State for general productions and thrift.
