Deacon JAMES ELLIOTT, who is nearly 92 years old, resides in the First Ward alone in part of his own house. Last evening he re ceived a family visit from hit* brethren and sisters of the Baptist church. The deacon welcomed the company in a neat speech which would have done credit to any man in his prime. A number of prominent New York bankers went to Washington 011 Wednes day to consult with President Garfield and Secretary Windom in relation to the financial affairs of the Nation, especially in regard to the disposal of the balance of £104,000,000 of four per cent, bonds which the Treasury is authorized to issue. The committee of the House of Repre sentatives made a report in the case of Palmer, the correspondent of the Pitts burg Commercial Gazette. They reported that the charges made by Palmer were unwarrantable and unjustifiable, and that in making such charges he had violated the privileges of the House. The report was adopted, after which the resolution expelling Palmer from his seat at the re porters' desk, was taken up. Considera ble discusssion followed but the resolu tion was finally adopted. W. Wilson, a Sunbury merchant has mysteriously disappeared. Foul play is suspected. DISSOLUTION. —The co-partnership heretofore existing between Charles Johnson, N. M. Eichelberger and Peter Mclntyre, under the firm name of the " Johnson Manufacturing Compa ny," is this day disolved by mutual consent, Mr. Peter Mclntyre retiring from the firm.
